2026 Iowa US Senate Voters Guide

Ban. Sponsored the Life at Conception Act, establishing right to life at fertilization. Opposes taxpayer-funded abortions. Supports the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Is “pro-life.” “We must protect the unborn.”

No. Opposes an SEC proposal requiring companies to disclose climate-related risks to investors, calling it “egregious and outrageous.”  Voted for a bill to end Biden-era clean energy tax credits. Voted to repeal clean energy provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act.

Lower. Voted to extend Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, which included the largest one-time cut in the corporate tax rate and tax cuts for the very wealthy. Voted against a bill to raise taxes on corporations and wealthier individuals.

Raise. Would end tax “loopholes for billionaires and big corporations.” Supports requiring wealthy people to pay more taxes toward Social Security. “Without question, we have to tax billionaires and large corporations.”

Mostly harder. Sponsored a 2025 bill to require proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in a federal election. Voted for a 2026 version. Voted against a 2021 bill requiring certain states to get preapproval for changes in voting practices. “It should be easy to vote and hard to cheat.”
