Ban. Voted against shielding patients from criminal investigations in their home states for traveling to Washington for abortion care. Voted against requiring health insurance to cover reproductive care, including lawful abortions. Said “the people have spoken” in passing a state law allowing abortions up to about 24 weeks.
Legal. Would “do whatever it takes to prevent a national abortion ban.” Twice sponsored bills to protect access to out-of-state abortion services. Introduced a bill protecting access to medication abortion, as in via telehealth. “Reproductive care is already scarce in rural communities like mine. A ban on mifepristone will only make that worse.”
Mostly no. In 2021 voted against reducing carbon intensity in transportation fuel. Voted against the Climate Commitment Act, requiring net zero emissions by 2050. In 2025 said there was no “proof” these policies lowered “greenhouse-gas emissions.” Proposed expanding state’s “clean hydropower” and enabling carbon capture.
Mixed. “Climate change is real and is man-made.” Introduced a bill to bolster climate adaptation and mitigation practices on farmland. Said the WA Climate Commitment Act “got the equation wrong.” Proposed “making greener energy cheaper than fossil fuels.” Voted to repeal clean energy provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act.
“I’ll always stand with law enforcement.” Opposes “soft-on-crime bills” that “hinder…prosecution, limit penalties, and let criminals get out of custody early.” In 2021 voted against banning chokeholds and no-knock warrants, and requiring probable cause for police vehicle pursuits.
Decrease. Would “cut wasteful spending that feeds inflation” and “reduce red tape on small manufacturers.” Would “push for a pro-growth, pro-work agenda.” Would “stop adding taxes and regulations.” Rent control laws “will…increase the cost of rent in the long run.” Introduced a bill to “prevent unfair inside access to housing grants” in a program funding economic & housing options.
Mostly increase. Helped secure $600 million in federal funds to repair the I-5 Bridge. Introduced a bill to stop big box corporations from “using their size to force suppliers into charging smaller businesses more.” Introduced a right-to-repair bill: “We deserve the right to fix our own stuff.” Voted to loosen regulation of the crypto industry. “Streamline… application process for SBA loans.”
Mixed. Says “environmental extremism” has harmed timber industry. “We can log effectively …while protecting our environment.” Opposed a bill increasing recyclable items. Sponsored a bill to increase funding for “clean air, clean water, toxic cleanup.” Supports “funding for removal” of “sea lions on the Columbia” for salmon returns.
Mixed. Voted to give mining companies more access to federal lands. Voted to repeal a federal policy to enhance the conservation of public lands. Opposes the use of “environment-killing plastics.” Introduced a bill to allow Tribes to kill sea lions that prey on endangered salmon in the Lower Columbia River.
Decrease. Supports a bill that cut Medicaid. Says the new eligibility requirements for Medicaid “prevent waste, fraud and abuse of tax dollars.”
Says the Affordable Care Act allowed “able-bodied, working age” adults into Medicaid. Voted against creating a prescription drug affordability board to lower prescription drug costs.
Increase. Voted against a bill that cut Medicaid: “It strips even more Americans of healthcare coverage.” Sponsored a bill to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies. Introduced a bill to lower healthcare costs by ending “unauthorized” plan changes and “hidden” prices. “Affordable health insurance and prescription drugs are imperative.”
In 2025, voted against increasing ICE funding by $75 billion. In early 2026, voted for a DHS funding package; says she supported the “reforms” and “guardrails” on ICE in the bill. In June of 2026, voted against raising DHS funding by $70 billion. Supports a “secure border.”
Mostly yes. Says “peace in the Middle East” can’t be achieved while “Iran has nuclear weapons.” “It’s a problem we have to deal with.” Says the war is “not something I think our country will support long term.” “We get in, we accomplish our objectives, and we get out.”
No. “I do not support this war. It doesn’t make America more secure or prosperous.” Voted five times to require Congressional authorization for U.S. military action in Iran. “It should not be discounted [that] Iran has been the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the globe.”
Yes. “Higher wages for workers will increase the labor force.” Introduced a bill to tie the federal minimum wage to the cost of living in different regions. Said it would tailor to “families’ needs.”
Lower. Voted against a new millionaire tax. Voted against raising the capital gains tax. Supports extending the Trump 2017 tax cuts, which included the largest one-time cut in the corporate tax rate. Keep taxes “low and competitive.”
Raise. Voted against extending the 2017 Trump tax cuts. Calls for “prioritizing tax cuts for working families over tax breaks for the wealthy.” Introduced a bill to tax carried interest income at the same rate as ordinary wages.
Mostly harder. Questioned expanding WA automatic voter registration. Voted against a WA bill requiring preclearance for limiting voting access. Supports WA vote-by-mail system, would enforce voter ID. “We have the ability to…require verification of citizenship prior to registration.”
