The Guides.Vote team is raising money to produce our widely praised nonpartisan guides and to distribute them to as wide an audience as possible. As this Overview for Supporters describes, we’ll produce roughly 40 guides to the most closely contested US Senate and gubernatorial races, Secretary of State races, and State Supreme Court races, plus a guide to Congressional races and Spanish translations.
Guides cost roughly $2,000 apiece to research, write, edit, vet and translate. We’ll also be investing in outreach staffers who will get even more organizations to distribute them and expand on a previous list of groups that distributed or promoted them and that included not only hundreds of campuses, but organizations from the American Democracy Project and Black Voters Matter to Nonprofit Vote, Vote.org and When We All Vote, as well as the historically black sororities and fraternities and our new fiscal sponsor, Youth Service America. And to approach key influencers as well. We’ll also be hiring a top-flight social media person to produce plug and play toolkits for partners and promote the guides more generally.
Here’s what your money will support. For more information, see our overview for supporters.
