Jacky Rosen (D)

Yes. “The climate crisis has very real impacts in Nevada.… We must keep taking action to protect our planet.” Voted for “the biggest investment in combating climate change.” Supports “clean energy.”

Criminal Justice

How to ensure effectiveness and fairness in law enforcement?

Sam Brown (R)

Jacky Rosen (D)

Increase. Supports increasing federal funds for affordable housing. Voted to increase investment in semiconductor chip manufacturing in the US. Voted for the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure law. Would “build an economy that levels the playing field for workers and small businesses.”

Jacky Rosen (D)

No. Introduced a bill expanding African American history programs at schools. “One step toward dismantling systemic racism is through education.”

Elections

Did Joe Biden win the 2020 Presidential election?

Sam Brown (R)

Mixed. In 2020, said Democrat-led legislatures “rammed through new laws that put ballots and election security at risk…. Every fraudulent vote cancels out a real vote.” In 2021, said “Joe Biden is our president.”

Tighten. “I’m committed to protecting our planet.” Wants to protect Lake Tahoe “for generations to come.” Called the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision limiting federal agencies’ regulatory authority “outrageous.”

Gun Laws

Loosen or tighten gun regulation?

Sam Brown (R)

Tighten. Supports “commonsense gun safety measures.” Voted to enhance background checks for minors and implement red flag laws. Sponsored bills banning bump stocks and assault weapons. “Gun violence is a public health crisis.”

Health Care

Increase or decrease government support for health care?

Sam Brown (R)

Decrease. “More regulations… only lead to less innovation.” Opposes Obamacare and capping insulin at $35 for Medicare recipients. Jacky Rosen (D)
